"What is on after Adult Swim?" you asked embracing the corners of your lips
As you smiled in that
you-know-what-I'm-getting-at
kind of way.
Wednesday nights when we've come back from the movies,
Debating the hokey nature of Superheroes and their
on-the-nose
Way of coping with the jaded glimmering hope of things: they stood for

On the way back from the cinema, Music we only half knew brought us both
Back to a time we were never around for and had us missing the names and faces
Of lovers we never took.

The crux of where your brown hair was parted - around a scar you forgot you had -
Stood out under the warm not-so-spring sunset.

I kissed it. Not wanting to put away the food we had made for tonight.
